meet treesje

The stylish new handbag line Treesje, is like Chloe meets Kooba. With stylish lines, unique shapes, and luscious leather, Treesje is the new IT bag for 2009. Only a few retailers have begun to carry the line (such as Nordstroms). They are funky, but not overly done, and the colors they use will match just about everything! The prices are easier to swallow than super posh Chloe. Even though reminscient of other fabulous designers, Treesje bags still convey a look all their own. With use signature gold double ringed hardware, and interesting leather treatments, Treesje will surely get you noticed.

sultry eyes, nude lips, so runway

The models strutting their way down the catwalks are showing off a new kind of trend: makeup. Numerous designers have been sending models down the runway with nude lips and severely smokey eyes. They key to this look is knowing when to flaunt it; smokey eyes are most certainly not for daylight hours (although a nude lip in the a.m. is fresh). Yet, this isn't a new fad, the nude lip and overly done (but so right!) eyes were all the rage in the 60's with mod attire.
Just keep it modern, and if you a really dressing up, try false lashes (just don't go super artificial!). Just remember, if you take it too far, people may mistake you for (gasp) an erotic dancer named Infinity. This is a special occasion face. The color palatte is available at MAC Cosmetics.

rock on, LaROK, rock on

With their edgy and futuristic designs, LaROK, has been catching my eye recently. Their out of place zippers, sequins, and patterns pull off a look that is so uncomplicatingly chic. Their cuts seem to emphasize all the right places, but their clothes are still classy not trashy. Perfect for a hip cocktail party, a late night meet-up at your local coffee shop, or a stylish resturant affair. My favorite are their open back dresses. The styles from fall 2008 collection are certainly noteworthy, and just in time for the Holiday season. Keeping roking, LaROK.

Fashionista Tip: If you are going to splurge on an amazing dress, don't on the rest of your outfit. Grab a low priced clutch, a great (but cheap pair) of ankle boots. Accent with diamond studs (cubic do the job!), and ta-da, everything looks high-end.

dear mr. Jacobs, thank you! love tff

Although Marc Jacobs might be our favorite American designer, his prices are certainly not favorable. With most of his bags pushing $1,000 +, its unlikely we will be able to include any of his gorgeous purses into our ever-changing wardrobes. Behold Marc Jacobs line "Marc by Marc Jacobs," which includes great designer basics (beautiful trenches and a-line dresses), and simply delicious handbags. Not to mention, his funky line of accessories, which includes his uber hot collection of watch necklaces. With thoughtful pops of color and stylish monogramming, Mr. Jacobs can edge his way into your closet.

project runway finale...what LEANNE?!

We've all be tuning into Bravo's Project Runway, and for the most part the judges have impeccable taste. Micheal Kors caddy comments are downright hilarious (and rude), and Nina Garcia's follow-up insults and facial expressions keep us watching every week. With the final contestants heading to Bryant Park, it was obvious Kenley's collection was inspired and in-line with the current trends (let's just forget the condescending attitude). Her empire bodices, and full skirt dresses were the definition of couture and class.

Photobucket
Leanne's collection line failed to enchant the senses, with overused "petal" designing and architectural inspiration. The color palette was bland, and used only a few dull shades (not even appropriate for the season), and her cuts were unbalanced and out of style. Honestly, with her greasy hair, ill-fitted clothing, what sort of fashion savvy individual could respectly wear her clothing?

One more thing, I cannot neglect to mention Micheal Kors unforgettable and unbelievable fake tan.

Flashback (or dance)

80's purple

Photobucket
Eclectic site full of fun and fresh trends and styles. Different than the typical mainstream department stores with their retro style. Their clothes and accessories will make you feel effortlessly cool (drop the cigarette, you won't need it for this look to work, and plus it's not fashionable anymore, actually just get over it already).
Although the site is "80s" purple, trends come from all decades of yesteryear, yet still with modern styles.

Fashionista Tip: Don't take retro prints and silhouettes overboard. The majority of the trends are in the past (where they belong!). Add a few pieces to your 2008 wardrobe to spice up your modern day look.

The sunglasses collection is epic! The best styles from all decades, and the 80's purple line is temptingly affordable.
